8x10 Hand-cut paper & spray paint on paper
I gave myself a challenge: go from inspiration to finished piece in one day. It ended up taking two, but that's how it goes.
I walked through my neighborhood with a camera, looking for everyday textures that might look abstract as cut paper. I found a utility pole with a deep knot and lots of checking in the wood — all these cracks and lines running through the grain. That's what this piece is. Unless someone tells you, it just looks like an abstract. But once you know, you can see the pole, the knot, all of it.
This is hand-cut (not laser) on a teal spray painted background with tan splatters. Floated over a black mat. One of a kind — this is the only version that will ever be made.
This piece comes framed in a basic white frame.

Canvas prints have 1.5" thick high-quality gallery wrapped canvases (staples are hidden on the back rather than the sides) with wooden stretcher bars. I don't use those compressed paper stretchers that you find in cheap canvas frames. pH neutral and acid-free canvases will not yellow over time. All this is to give you a quality product constructed to last for many decades.
Paper prints are printed on Premium Archival Smooth Matte Fine Art Paper. The paper supports accurate color reproduction and high-contrast, high-resolution output, and is acid-free for a longer print life with pigment inks. It features a heavyweight (230 gsm), and an instant-dry coating that resists fingerprints and smudging.
