Portrait of a Ballerina

Hand-cut paper portrait of a ballerina. I wanted to bring out the athleticism of ballet dancers. This piece features a beautiful ballerina against the backdrop of an abandoned building complete with graffiti along the stairs.

Made from three parts: There are two hand-cut layers of paper. The teal layer is spray painted and stenciled for texture.

The background was an interesting experiment. I created the design digitally and printed it on canvas. I added texture to the canvas with acrylic medium and splattered paint.
