Freckles

Hand-cut paper portrait of a young girl with freckles.

Made from two layers: the top is a single piece cut to form the figure and then spray painted to add color and texture. The background is painted with acrylics in a simple geometric design.

The top layer has spacers to lift it slightly away from the background. This helps the hand-cut paper to stand out by creating shadow lines.
